Noorani Browser — v1.0

A browser that knows your five.

Noorani is a desktop browser built around how Muslims actually live online. Prayer times, Qibla, the Hijri calendar, thoughtful filtering, and privacy taken seriously — woven into the browser itself, not bolted on as a widget.

Why Noorani

Built around your day, not around yours.

Other browsers ask you to retrofit your life around them — extensions, bookmarks, tabs open to prayer-time sites. Noorani starts from a different question: what if the browser already knew?

Your five, never missed.

Accurate prayer times computed locally for your coordinates, with gentle adhān reminders that don't hijack your screen. Switch calculation methods (Karachi, ISNA, MWL, Umm al-Qura, and more) in a single click.

The Qibla, always in reach.

A precise Qibla indicator lives in the browser — no app, no phone. Calibrated to your location, with degree bearing and visual compass. One keystroke away when you need it.

A Hijri calendar that follows you.

Every tab, every day — the Islamic date is where you need it. Ramadan, Dhul-Hijjah, and key dates are highlighted automatically so you're never caught off guard.

Privacy as a first principle.

No telemetry to Silicon Valley. Western ad trackers blocked by default. Your location stays on your device — we compute prayer times locally, not on someone's server. Amānah matters.

What's inside

Everything in one place, finally.

A browser you don't have to decorate with extensions to make it yours.

Prayer times engine

Locally computed using astronomical algorithms. Six calculation methods, custom Asr juristic schools, high-latitude rules — all handled.

Core v1.0

Qibla indicator

Great-circle Qibla calculation based on your coordinates. Shows bearing and visual compass in the toolbar.

Core v1.0

Hijri calendar

Umm al-Qura calendar native to the browser. Switches automatically at Maghrib. Islamic months and key dates highlighted.

Core v1.0

Thoughtful filtering

Optional content filter with three sensitivity levels. No shaming, no alarms — just a quieter web when you want one. Fully configurable.

Core v1.0

Quran quick-access

Open any surah, any verse, from the address bar. Offline-capable. Multiple translations and reciters bundled in.

Core v1.0

Ramadan mode

A calmer browser during Ramadan. Suhoor and iftar countdowns, stricter filtering, distractions dialed back — all toggled with one switch.

v1.1

Tracker blocking

Aggressive blocking of Western ad-tech, fingerprinters, and cross-site trackers — on by default. Your browsing isn't someone else's data set.

Core v1.0

Native languages

First-class UI in Arabic, Urdu, Bahasa Indonesia, Turkish, Malay, and English. Proper right-to-left, not an afterthought.

v1.1

Ayah of the day

A verse on every new tab, with translation and context. Optional. Close it once and it stays closed — we don't nag.
